Many Legislative Districts have been passing a resolution to urge their state and national representatives to support Single Payer. On 4/17/17 the 33rd LD passed the following resolution, followed by the 43rd, and now the 8th! Regarding LD’s passing a resolution for single payer, might I suggest you update one item on the template that you link to? There is now a bill for single payer that has been introduced in the US Senate. Thus, I would replace the existing 4th “Whereas” on the template with something like the following, just in case some volunteers may miss it when they do their edits for their own LD:

“Whereas there is an active single-payer health care bill in the United States Senate, S.1804, Medicare for All Act of 2017, which would provide health coverage for all U.S. residents at considerably lower cost, and …”

And then the second to last “Be it finally resolved” replace with something like:

“Be it further resolved that we urge Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to advocate and Co-Sponsor S.1804, the Medicare for All Act of 2017.”

Medicare for all is the only way to bring down costs and cover everyone, cradle to grave. The US Government, being sovereign and the sole issuer of the US dollar, is the only agency that can enact a single-payer program without fear of going bankrupt. A sovereign nation that issues currency can never run out of the currency it creates. A federally funded single-payer system is the only way to go.
